Hosting The DarcMatter Alternatives Conference 2017 South Korea at the end of September was one of the most exhilarating, exciting and simultaneously challenging initiatives that the DarcMatter team has accomplished to date! #DMAC2017
Putting together a global event of the top thought leaders and convening them together in South Korea, while also coordinating locally with regional investor groups including pensions funds, insurance companies and securities firms, proved to be no easy task.
With a short time frame and an extremely driven team, we were able to create a differentiated and well-constructed agenda with global thought leaders, increase exposure for DM and alternatives, and execute on our inaugural conference abroad.
DMAC 2017 Agenda was a two-day event taking place at the Conrad Seoul, in Seoul, South Korea. The two-day conference included keynote speakers from Morgan Creek Capital, Mexico Ventures, and BlackRock; along with leading Hedge Funds, Private Equity, and Venture Capital firms participating in both panel and solo speaker presentation sessions. DMAC 2017 also included networking lunches and one on one meetings for key asset management firm attendees. Key local media and press attended for interviews with key asset management firm attendees, keen on expanding their footprint in South Korea. (Which we’ll also share through the DM Resource Center!)
Even through the negative news that was ever-present in the media with regards to North Korea, our conference attendees went against much of the mainstream chatter to join us in South Korea and develop a deeper understanding of the local market.
We’re eager to take the learnings from this year’s inaugural conference, and apply them as we ramp up plans for DMAC 2018.
